The best thing from Big Time Gaming since they launched megaways, has to be mega clusters. That encompasses their latest gemstone themed game, Star Clusters Megaclusters where the somewhat new mechanics takes the player on a thrilling base game ride from a 4-reel, 4-row to an 8-reel 8-rows experience. By which can boast with an unlimited multiplier, golden wilds, and plenty of free spins. But wait, it gets even better, as the free spin rounds could push the game grid to its maximum, with 16-reels and 16-rows. Meaning, all of a sudden, forming a cluster of 5 gets exponentially easier to hit. As such, Big Time Gaming really hit the head of the nail in one go with the release of Star Clusters Megaclusters. So, let’s dive right into the core mechanics of the fantastic video slot.

Star Clusters Megaclusters video slot – Bonus Feature
The main feature that draws the player in is the free spins feature. And to trigger the bonus all you need to do is hit 5 consecutive cluster wins in a row to get 2 free spins. By which increases with 1 free spin with every win after the trigger amount. While in the free spins, the base game grid expands to 8-reels and 8-rows. Yet, once a winning cluster forms, all symbols part of the winning combination split into 4, and expand the game grid. And if we apply some quick math, this means that a fully grown grid consists of 16-reels and 16-rows. Plus, when a golden wild is in a winning cluster, it doesn’t just increase the multiplier by one. But when the total amount surpasses 10 in total 1+ free spins get added. Now, to get the full picture, let’s check out the symbols and mechanics.
Symbols and Scatters
There are no real “special” symbols included in the paytable. Where you will find 7 gemstones with the higher ones, including Amethyst (purple), Ruby (red), and Sapphire (blue). And the lower end, Emerald (green), Citrine (orange), Topaz (yellow), Tanzanite (blue). And the only 2 symbols that stick out are the normal wild, which substitutes any symbol, except the golden wild multiplier. That works, as explained in the bonus feature. Now, we think it’s essential to define the split-symbol function further. First, when the base game starts, you have 4-reels and 4-rows. And every time a win forms, those symbols splits into 4 and spawns 4 new ones on the same tile space as the original occupied. This keeps ongoing as long as a cluster hits, meaning the base game grid can reach 8×8. While the free spins start at 8×8 and can expand to 16×16.
