Riches of Midgard: Land and Expand video slot – Bonus Feature
As fundamental as the main bonus feature is, it still delivers some great gameplay. To start the 8 free spins, you first need to land 3 Thor’s hammer, (Mjǫllnir) symbols, marked with scatter. By which can get re-trigger by hitting more scatters on reel 3. That grants the player 2 additional free spins. Plus, also adds 1 extra row on top or at the bottom to add to the payline structure.
That maxes out at 7-rows high, consequently grants the paytable possibilities to 29 if lucky. Moreover, during the free spins, the hot spot reels and re-spin function is also active. In essence, the re-spin gets on its way after you manage to match 2 identical symbols in the “Hot Spot Reels” position, together with at least 2 additional similar symbols on the game grid. That then expands to cover the entire reel, before your awarded re-spin starts.
Symbols and Scatters
In all honesty, there is not that much to explore when it comes to the symbol selection. Meaning, naturally, you will find Odin as the highest paying one. Closely followed by Thor and Freya. As for the remaining feature symbols, we have the favoured mead drinking horn. And finally a piece of meat. Presumably from the never-ending meat source, Sæhrímnir. As for the lower segment, we do find the generic use of regular playing card symbols.
Yet, all from Ace, King, Queen, Jack, and 10 are all adapted to fit the theme in a rugged wooden look. Other than that, it’s only a wild symbol left, presented in a gold frame on a purple background. And that’s it folks, easy to memorize, leaving more time to enjoy the gameplay, as it should.
Our thoughts on Riches of Midgard: Land and Expand video slot
Riches of Midgard: Land and Expand may not entice all types of players. Although, worth pointing out, the latest release caters more to the mobile user. As such, if you like to take on a scaled-back Norse theme in Riches of Midgard: Land and Expand via a handheld device then this video slot is the game for you, without a doubt for sure. Telling us that, there was obviously a gap in the market that needed filling.
Additionally, we are not saying that Riches of Midgard: Land and Expand is not a good video slot. But we are also not saying that it is. All in all, the end product feels more of a slot filler than a highly anticipated release. Still, as we always recommend you to form your own opinion, give it a spin, and see what you think. That you can do with or without a bonus.
