Raptor DoubleMax is a dinosaur-themed video slot to the crowd who loves Yggdrasil Gaming that saw the UK release on August 26th. And as the title or game name already gives away, you are about to travel back in time. And this was to the time when the dinosaurs, giant lizards, and terrifying bird-looking creatures were at the top of the food chain. By which is another cascading title to add to an already long list of successful games in the same class from the provider. And like many other cascading titles, the Raptor Doublemax video slot comes with a 96.00% return to player (RTP). Yet, what is not so Jurassic about this game is the volatility. That, according to the provider, plays on a “super-high” setting. Plus, the max win creeps in on a more than expected 20,000 x your bet. Or, if the translated actual value, £1,200,000.

Raptor Doublemax video slot – Bonus Feature
The old-school approach to the bonus title is appropriate to the game. But also something we hardly see these days. Where some providers struggle to keep the bonus simple, easy to understand, but yet entertaining. And seeing a new title from Yggdrasil that is bare-bones had to take some restraints from the feature-driven provider. But, back on point, free spins. Where the trigger is the usual suspect, 3 or more scatters give 7 free spins. While 4 and 5 scatters consequently reward the player with 10 and 13 free spins. You may bet your free spins to reach the next level before the free spins start (if applicable to your market). Basically, a 50/50 chance to win 10 free spins if you started at 7. Or 10 to 13. the only time you can’t gamble the free spins is if you already start at 13; makes sense?
Side note about the bonus feature
A couple of notations to take into consideration before playing the free spins. The cascade feature, when part of the winning combination doubles the current multiplier. That, during the free spins, don’t reset between the spins, in comparison to the base spins. Also, a market-specific feature is the “golden bet”. That when activated, from the spin menu 2x your chances of triggering the said feature. Still, be aware, the activation comes with a cost of 25% extra per spin. Other than that, the bonus game in Raptor Doublemax is relatively straightforward and uncomplicated but loads of fun.

Symbols and Scatters
The free spins symbol is an assuming dinosaur egg with the text “free spins” clearly displayed. And the only extra symbol is the wild symbol, a sea shell in gold. For the top-paying symbols and dinosaur picks. We find, of course, the raptor, triceratops, abelisaurus, and finally, a Parasaurolophus. And perhaps a bit expected, or lack of imagination, the remaining selection of included symbols are the standard deck of cards ace, king, queen, and jack. And that’s what Raptor Doublemax video slot has, dino lovers.
The real spin experience of Raptor Doublemax
First things first, to clarify, to make it applicable to markets with restrictions as well, we decided not to play our 100 £1 test spins with any extra bonus features activated. And this is the boiled-down version of our real spin experience of the Raptor Doublemax video slot from Yggdrasil. We can’t say that the hit frequency when spinning on the Raptor Doublemax video slot was on our side. Or that we were on the right side of the “super-high” volatility. As mostly, we got some minor wins stretched throughout our experience. In fact, not even the multiplier reached a thrilling level. But, that’s usually how a huge, and in fact, really high volatile video slot acts. Typically, you are fortunate and get the significant wins, or you see the bankroll take a nosedive.
Our thoughts on Raptor Doublemax video slot
Without tainting our experience for a misfortunate run, the Raptor Doublemax video slot is a decent game in our opinion. And should get considered as a top dinosaur-themed title to add to your growing collection of quality titles indeed when looking for something new. Where the simplicity does a great job of lifting the overall impression. Again, though, if your market allows. And you can activate such things as “gold Bet”. Or, for that matter, gamble your free spins; you are definitely looking at a more dynamic experience. Where the final verdict gets summarised into one sentence. A great addition to the dino-themed video slots that have great potential in the free spins to hit the max win of £1,200,000.
