Indeed, in anticipation of skateboarding entering as an official discipline in the Olympics 2020 Play’n GO banks on an upswing in popularity and releases a skate themed video slot, Nyjah Huston: Skate for Gold, as of now, the theme and participation in said sport are somewhat niched and outside of mainstream media. However, with growing coverage, the theme as such should naturally pick up as well. Now, if we look at the Nyjah Huston: Skate for Gold it’s all presented familiarly, that plays on 5-reels on 3-rows on 10 paylines with a Play’n GO baseline return to player (RTP) of 96.20%, where the max winning potential of 5000 x your bet also feels time tested, question is, how is the new genre and release, Nyjah Huston: Skate for Gold from Play’n GO measuring up as a whole?

Nyjah Huston: Skate for Gold video slot – Bonus Feature
Free spins are the name of the game. Still, the bonus game does host some nice added feature when init. And to trigger the 12 free spins you first need to land S, K, A, T, E spelled out by the golden symbols, from right to left. While in the free spins round a trick combo meter is active on every spin. Where the goal is to replicate the combination by landing symbols matching the displayed ones, that grants you 2 things, 2 additional free spins. But also the wild-board re-spin.” For the latter, 2 normal wilds and 1 expanding wild adds to the game grid. Where the expanding wild randomly triggers the “the golden wild board.” That boosts your winnings by adding a multiplier that goes from 1x up to 10x.
Symbols and Scatters
When it comes to the symbol chosen, Play’n GO has done an excellent job of keeping it pure to the theme. Meaning, first of you, of course, have the highest paying symbol, Nyjah Huston himself. But also included in the collection for obvious reasons are 4 different tricks symbols. And the S, K, A, T, E tiles. Where one set is on a golden background and the other one a normal backdrop. Plus the 3 different wilds. Starting with a 1 tile standard wild, and one expanding wild, and finally an expanding wild with an added multiplier “the golden wild board” (1x up to 10x). Which we know triggers by the trick combo meter. By which also randomly appears on the base play as well as the free spins round. The only difference is that in the free spins round its on all spins while random in the base game.
Our thoughts on Nyjah Huston: Skate for Gold
Nyjah Huston: Skate for Gold feels a bit disjointed and could do with some more refinement. Yet, it does have some appeal that makes you keep going back for more. Don’t get us wrong; it’s a decent video slot that works for a specific audience. However, Nyjah Huston: Skate for Gold feels more of a release that had to happen to fill a void. Indeed, we are not going to see this particular one as the start of a huge series like Play’n GO’s best-seller Rich Wilde and the Book of Dead. Which is one of the most utilized video slots to include in a welcome casino bonus offer when signing up as a new customer to any highly regarded casino in the UK. Instead, Nyjah Huston: Skate for Gold is going to find its somewhat narrow but devoted target audience at a pace linked to the theme.
