The game name Reef Raider might take your thoughts to an epic pirate battle scene with a gunpowder smell in the air while pirates swing across to board a hostile vessel. And you would, in a sense, be on track to what this game is all about. But, in fact, this game name is the description of a crab-looking fellow that spends his life in a shallow tidal pool. Though things are all relative, as Mr. Reef Raider beliefs, he is the most feared pirate on all the 7 seas. Where a golden hook, eye patch, and of course, a classic pirate hat and peg leg fully embrace the stereotype. And with all right, as he is the main character and guide in your new pirate adventure, seen from below the wavy surface. Read all about NetEnt Reef Raider here.

NetEnt Reef Raider video slot – Bonus Feature
First things first, many outlets have reported Reef Raider video slots as medium volatility. However, we will rely on NetEnt when they say. “Reef Raider is a high volatility game, so with any luck, you’ll land some big wins”. Now, back on point and how the main bonus game works. By which are 9 free spins, initially, that, of course, can get increased due to the number of steps Mr. Reef Raider takes. Yet, to trigger the free spins, your wins need to include a Clam Wild symbol at least 15 times. Although this is a symbol collection system, it could happen on 15 spins in a row. Or as long as you have a paid spin remaining. But keep in mind, it all needs to happen from one spin, that makes sense? Play the game, and it will.
Side note about the bonus feature
Before we start the side note, we also like to say, that in all four corners you will stumble upon a feature worth exploring, indeed. So Let’s list the special or bonus features in order as you follow the treasure map. This starts with the “Anchor Drop” feature, removing 1 to 3 lower paying symbols from the game grid. And naturally, the same amount is replaced with new ones. The next feature is “Random Wilds”, as the name applies 4 to 8 wilds find their place in the game grid. Then we have the “Mystery Chest”, in which 2 to 16 medium-range symbols removes and replaces by the same amount of identical symbols. Finally, “Cannon Blast “, a random symbol, gets targeted and blasted off the grid, together with all visual symbols on the same reel and row. In other words, 14 symbols disappear to start a new Avalanche.
Symbols and Scatters
The special symbols are a golden anchor (Anchor Drop), a capital W in a shell (Random Wilds), and a gold coin. But also a gold and red treasure chest (Mystery Chest) and finally a blue canon on wheels (Cannon Blast). Also included are multiplier symbols from 2x, 3x, 5x, and ultimately 50x. When it comes to the medium-range, we are looking at all precious gemstones, from the top red, pink, orange, and green. And for the low-paying selection, NetEnt has picked theme-fitted seashells in purple, blue, yellow, and green to round all the symbols up.
The real spin experience of NetEnt Reef Raider
Off we go with our 100 spins on £1, where we hit the first “anchor drop” just after 9 spins. Which also triggered the wild coin. Though, the luck ran out and back to square one. And as typical and expected of grid or avalanche high volatility video slots. The Reef Raider video slot pulled the plug in the tub, and the account balance kept on draining. Sure, we had, as also normal, scattered wins left, right, and center, but nothing major. Yet, we are completely satisfied with the end result of stopping at -0.8% in account balance.
Our thoughts on NetEnt Reef Raider video slot
Are you looking to get into playing grid, avalanche, or cluster pays video slots, or whatever your favourite word is for this type of game? Then the Reef Raider video slot from NetEnt is the perfect companion. And it all has to do with NetEnts intuitive way of presenting the game. And here usually is where we would suggest reading the rules and payout structures in the included game info. But in this instance, don’t bother, actually, as all are incredibly self-explanatory as you play. You can open this game up at any of our online casinos and you will be good to go. And we speculate that NetEnt is trying to revive the avalanche mechanics in a more straightforward format than we have seen before. Good on you, NetEnt.
