In August 2020, Yggdrasil had yet another attempt at merging online slot games with classic casino table games. However, unlike the previous hybrid slot (Dr Fortuno), they released in 2019. They’ve ensured their new Jackpot Express would get a lot of attention in the media for months and years to come. And, of course, a prime spot in the jackpot section of online casino lobbies too.

To sum up, the new Jackpot Express marks a change in the provider’s strategy. Indeed, this hybrid game offers 3 progressive jackpots that could potentially change life’s from a bet as low as 20p. But more importantly, they’ve conceptualized a low to medium variance slot with uniquely diverse and yet well-balanced gameplay. Jackpot Express marks a pivoting point in the company’s vision. But besides this, it’s also an ultra-engaging slot that’ll send you on a casino cruise adventure like never before.

Jackpot Express – Bonus Feature

Like most Yggdrasil slots, Jackpot Express too burst with action. But the most important one is, of course, the progressive jackpot which you’ll get a shot at winning via a bonus wheel, And after 3+ bonus symbols land on the reels, if you’re lucky. Because the 3+ bonus symbols will also activate 3 side games, so, in other words, this combination can trigger 4 different games at random.

To sum up, there’s a dice game where you’ll get to roll dice after a win to increase the value of a winning combo. The multiplier you’ll get is always equal to the value of both dies. So, a minimum of 2x and up to 12x. Then there’s the slot/roulette hybrid 10 free spins game with sticky wilds, win multipliers, and free spins. Then there’s a card/slot hybrid bonus where you’ll add sticky wilds onto the reels by beating the dealer’s hand.

Symbols and Scatters

As you now know, there’s 1 Scatter symbol in the game that activates 4 side games. But how is the bonus determined? In essence, after hitting the required number of Scatter symbols, the one that landed on the middle reel will transform into a vertical bonus wheel with 4 symbols on it. So, if the central reel Scatter displays a golden wheel symbol, it’s the progressive jackpot game you’ll play.

If the wheel pointer stops on the AK symbol, it’s the beat the dealer 10 free spins game you’ll play. The dice symbol naturally activates the 10 free spins dice roll mini-game. And lastly, the European roulette triggers 10 free spins with the reel modifiers described above. The wild symbol, on the other hand, is marked by a W and can replace all symbols to award you a win, except the Scatter.

Our thoughts on Jackpot Express

Jackpot Express is one of the best slots the studio released recently. In fact, not only is it visually appealing because of its colorful river background. But the symbols, calming soundtrack, and characters translate the strong storyline effectively.

But more importantly, Jackpot Express isn’t one of those games that’ll deplete your bankroll if you play responsibly. Indeed, its low variance means that frequent small wins will keep your bankroll going for multiple game rounds depending on how much you wager of course.

Now when you set your bets up, keep in mind that larger wagers do not increase your chances at winning a jackpot. But they do, however, increase your chances of activating the bonus. So if the casino you play on enables you to wager bonus funds on progressive slots. It might be wise to claim one to increase your playtime.
