In 2011 the game provider NetEnt put their spin on the quest of Spanish explorer Gonzalo de Sandoval. A few years later, the studio opted to commission their subsidiary company to send their conquistador on yet another adventure. Indeed, Gonzo’s Quest Megaways is an excellent example of how a game provider can modernize a game to ensure it stood the test of time. The July 2020 release banks on the immense success the previous slot had. Yet, it’s a game that completely surpasses the expectations of today’s gamblers.
This is because Gonzo’s Quest Megaways offers a better RTP. Plus, it also offers an even more impressive max win (over 20,000x stake) to those who’ll find Eldorado. With that said, Gonzo’s Quest Megaways is not a traditional dynamic betways slot. And below you’ll discover why that is.

Gonzo’s Quest Megaways – Bonus Feature
One of the particularities of Gonzo’s Quest Megaways is that this game offers multipliers in the base game. So, just like the original slot, in Gonzo’s Quest Megaways players will see their consecutive wins get even more rewarding as they progress on the ladder. The maximum multiplier you’ll activate in the base game is worth 5x. And yet the same ladder could multiply the value of your winning combos up to 15x in the free spins feature.
One of the great add-ons of Gonzo’s Quest Megaways is that in this game the Wild symbols won’t disintegrate after helping you enhance the value of a win. But they’ll still tumble onto the grid to make room for even more symbols or perhaps more wilds too.
Another great add-on is the Earthquake feature. Indeed, this new random mechanic will destroy low-pay symbols.
Symbols and Scatters
For some players, the free spins of this game may be a small let-down when you compare it with its predecessor. This is because by default the feature awards 9 free spins instead of 20. Yet there are more ways to activate the bonus. So it somewhat compensates for the lower minimum round you can trigger with the help of 3+ Scatter (Mayan calendar).
To sum up, you can trigger 9 free spins with 3 Mayan calendar symbols.
But, it’s worth knowing that if you have more than the 3 required. You’ll win 3 extra rounds per additional Scatter. Alternatively, you could also trigger the free spins when 2 Mayan calendars and a wild symbol land on the same payline. So, this is entirely new for this variation of the game. And, of course, it works hand in hand with the dynamic win ways too.
Our thoughts on Gonzo’s Quest Megaways
Without a doubt, this slot is a great addition to the lobby of any online casinos. As you’ve read above, the game offers more features, a slightly better RTP, and higher payouts too.
A great thing about this game is that NetEnt and Red Tiger Gaming have also revisited the math model. So the slot remains true to the original hit. Plus, it offers even more value to players even if the max bet is significantly lower. Lastly, this slot is playable on desktop, mobile, and tablet. And many operators enable players to redeem a casino bonus to maximize their deposit to play this slot. So, think about claiming one of the offers listed on casinoservice.org/uk before embarking on your next quest for Eldorado. This game is well worth a spin, especially if you’ve enjoyed the original slot like so many British gamblers have for many years.
