Crystal Sun video slot by Play’n GO is transporting players across the galaxy in search of big wins. In fact, this game offers astronomical winning possibilities that could reward players up to 4,000x their bets.
With its traditional 5 reels, 3 rows, 10 paylines and extensive betting range it seems that Crystal Sun video slot has everything to become a hit. To be frank, this April 2019 release shares some similarities with another iconic video slot by another game studio, NetEnt. But one thing is certain; this game is a lot more volatile than the game it takes its inspiration from. And because of this, it’s quickly becoming a favourite among savvy casino players that are looking for a Starburst alternative. So let’s explore this game into closer details.

Crystal Sun video slot – Bonus Feature
To sum up, even if Crystal Sun is more or less the same game as Starburst, it does offer some unique functionalities. And it’s these unique add-ons that make this game a lot more volatile than the original release by NetEnt.
To start with Crystal Sun video slot offers wild multipliers that can appear on the second, third and fourth reels. In essence, these wild multipliers always add up when more than one land in view. The maximum multipliers awarded by this feature is 9x (combined).
It’s also worth knowing that very much like its rival game, this one too offers a Re-Spin with expanding symbols to give even more chances of winning to players. But from our experience, the Re-Spin feature isn’t triggered as frequently as in Starburst. Which explains the higher volatility that could reward players a whopping £400,000 when betting £100 a spin, in the base game.
Symbols and Scatters
The most important symbol to keep an eye out for is the star wild multiplier. As mentioned above, this symbol can only land on the three inner reels. Plus, it will always cover a full reel when landing in view. And it will also remain on the reels when a Re-Spin is triggered. The maximum number of re-spin this feature can award is 3. And to get the maximum number of Free Spins the star symbol will need to appear on other reels when the feature is active.
Our thoughts on Crystal Sun video slot
All and all, despite the commotion that revolved around the launch of Crystal Sun video slot from Play’N GO it’s fair to say that this game makes a great add-on to online casinos. Sure the game mechanics are very similar to Starburst. Yet this game stands in a category of its own with its wild multipliers and very high volatility.
Undoubtedly, this slot game will appeal to starburst fans who are looking for huge adrenaline rushes. However, it’s worth keeping in mind that the very high volatility means that it’s best to play this slot with a casino bonus. And keep in mind that it’s also better suited to players who have a large bankroll to play with. If it’s not your case, well you’re better off setting the reels in motion on Starburst. Generally speaking, this game is better suited for novice players. So, the choice is yours.
