Finding all pirate-themed video slots on the market dull and generic? Well, then you definitely need to try out Avatar UX’s take on the genre, BountyPop, that the game producers themselves call a “spooky pirate theme that recreates the feeling of a classic video slot” by which is the 4th instalment in the widely popular popwins series. However, we do not agree entirely with the “spooky” part, what we recognise and agree on is the feeling of a classic video slot, yet with a modern approach.
Even though we are not 100% in-line with Avatar UX assessment and classification, BountyPop feels fresh and new and something worth playing. Plus, if you absolutely adore and are a fan of the series in general, this one adds indeed to the vertical. So, how about it matey, are you going to be the one collecting the bounty, or will you walk the plank?

BountyPop video slot – Bonus Feature
The main bonus feature of BountyPop is free spins, at 3 different levels. Meaning, the more scatters you collect, the higher number of free spins you get. That stretches from 6 spins (3 scatters), all the way up to 12 free spins (5 scatters). Though, before you embark on the free spins, you have the opportunity to spin a wheel either to increase your free spins or lose it all. This option may vary depending on your operator. While in the bonus game, the core mechanics work even more in your favour.
Meaning, after a win, the reels increase in row height, consequently adds more paylines. That displays on the left-hand side. Moreover, during the free spin, the reels never completely reset after a non-win-spin, as in the base game. Basically, they only reverse back to the shortest reel height, best understood by giving the BountyPop a spin.
Symbols and Scatters
In true Avatar UX fashion, they are breaking the norm barriers when it comes to symbol specification. Where they name the top-paying symbol (a masked pirate) as Super-high. Also, 7 different looking pirates are presented in various colour combinations holding all sorts of siege weapons in the “high” bracket and followed by the regular playing card symbols, ace, king, queen and jack, for the “low” section.
Other than that, there is only a bonus symbol to keep track of. That we would describe as a glowing mermaid or sea-maiden, holding a gem from the deep sea. Additionally, worth talking about is the “mystery wheel multiplier”. In essence, during the gameplay (base and bonus game). Expand all the reels to at least 6 symbols high (tops out at 9 symbols tall), and you get a spin on the wheel. That could grant you a multiplier from 2x to 100x your bet.
Our thoughts on BountyPop video slot
The pirate theme is somewhat watered down these days. Yet, Avatar UX and it’s BountyPop sparks the genre back to life. And it’s quite exciting to try something completely new. It quite effectively manages to bridge and build a link between the classic video slot fan and the base that prefers a more modern set-up. All in all, a great little video slot to have in your back pocket when looking for a good time that could hold huge winning potential.
