Follow in the footsteps of the early European explorers like the fictional conquistador character Gonzo in Relax Gaming version, Aztec Ascent video slot. Where the game grid presents at the foot of one of the famous Aztec flat-top pyramids, more known as Mesoamerican pyramids. Yet, here is where Relax Gaming is steering clear from any similarities to current equal video slots on the UK market. For instance, included in the Aztec Ascent video slot is the thrilling Relic random feature. But also, a symbol collection weaved in-game that further adds to the excitement. And, of course, a free spins bonus game where multiplier and symbol upgrade is predominant. So on that note, let’s not beat around the bush or jungle in this case and head straight into the action that this video slot looks to hold.

Aztec Ascent video slot – Bonus Feature
In a traditional manner, the free spins bonus game in the Aztec Ascent video slot triggers via 3 or more scatter symbols (golden disc). Still, as this title concludes with a 6-reel setup, it would be a waste of space and opportunity not to extend the number of scatter free spins trigger as well. In other words, 3, 4, 5, and 6 scatters grant the payer 8, 10, 12, and finally 15 initial free spins. Moreover, as already hinted, the Aztec Ascent video slot and, more precisely, the free spins come with level-up options to really trigger that monumental win. In essence, every symbol that is part of a winning combination will either carry a blue or red gemstone. Where you need to collect 5 of each colour to level up that particular feature.
Red gemstones
When leveling up the red side (right), you will upgrade your multiplier. And starts from 1x that gradually increases per level as the following, 2x, 5x, 10x, and finally 100x your bet size.
Blue gemstones
This feature basically upgrades or converts higher-paying symbols to mystery ones. But also the number of mystery symbols that can drop at once. Plus, the mystery symbols always reveal the same type.
Side note about the bonus feature
The Relic random feature is, as the name implies, a random trigger that can happen before any spin. Additionally, a random multiplier that goes all the way to 100x you bet is also active. Yet, the excitement doesn’t stop there. During this feature, up to 4 symbols on different locations may turn into mystery once and so increase your winning chances.
Symbols and Scatters
Let’s talk symbols in the Aztec Ascent video slot, which is naturally an inspired stone tablet with classic Mesoamerican flare. From the top, a red tablet with a presuming ruler or potentially a god-like figure. Followed by a quartet of animals, a lion, gator, panter, and lastly, a bird. Now, you all expect us to say; the lower symbol selection follows in the format of playing card symbols. And you would be partially correct. But apart from a tiny thing, before the regular heart, spades, diamonds, and clubs string starts, there is a star symbol. Although not that important, all lower symbols also cater to the overall theme.

The real spin experience of Aztec Ascent
The overall presentation of the Aztec Ascent video slot does a great job of clear communication. In other words, from launch to fully understand the game, we are looking more at seconds than minutes. Where we staked, what we consider, title appropriate £1.50 on our norm 100 spins. Which played out something like this. Do you feel the pause in our writing? No? well it took over 20 spins to get our first £1.50 win. That kind of loosened the bolts a little where some smaller and medium wins started to roll in. And, just as we thought it was not our day on the reels as the momentum slowly dwindled, things suddenly changed.
What dreams are made of
Indeed, when 2 spins remained, we hit all casino lover’s dreams, the 8 free spins bonus game. And not once but 2 times in a row. Where the first free spins win came in at £118.45, and the final spin and also a free spin loaded up the account with £210.75, leaving the account balance on a +4.77%.
Our thoughts on Aztec Ascent video slot
Initially, we have to admit that we thought Relax Gaming had missed the ball a bit on this one. Still, opinions are always subject to change if you apply the proper pressure. And in our case, it was to start spinning the reels in the Aztec Ascent video slot. Sure, the colour pallet might not suit all Aztec-themed video slots explorers. But, if you can overlook that fact, then the Aztec Ascent video slot is a great title to spin on when all things come into focus making it a great title to spin when playing at your casino of choice from our list of recommended online casinos and providers.
