Aurum Codex – Bonus Feature
Looking at the gameplay of Aurum Codex, it’s evident that for Red Tiger, the formula to manufacture gold coins isn’t that complex. In other words, both the base game and the free spins offer straightforward gameplay. So, most players should enjoy, although the slot is quite volatile. For instance, you can expect big payouts as wilds land on the grid in the main game. And, of course, stick to it until the result of the next spin is revealed. But even larger payouts could come your way if 2 golden books appear on the same row. Indeed, these 2 symbols will create a chain reaction and transform all symbols in between into wilds.
To activate the free spins, it’s 3 hourglass symbols you’ll need. The feature award 10 spins by default. However, you could get up to 20 as the hourglass pivot on itself before the bonus plays out.
Symbols and Scatters
To sum up, in Aurum Codex, there 2 types of wilds. The first one and yet the most powerful one is the golden book symbol (alchemy wild). From our experience, this symbol will land on the grid more or less every game round the Scatter doesn’t show up. However, keep in mind that all sessions are different. Plus, the paytable makes no mention of this guaranteed wild feature as such. Yet, it does state that the wild symbols can only appear on the first and last reel. Moreover, they’ll stick to the grid for 1 round, as you know.
The second wild (the golden wild referred to in the paytable) won’t stick to the grid.
Plus, it can also display several images. Yet, you’ll know the feature is active when 2 alchemy wild symbols appear on the same row and golden wild links the symbols together as they turn wild.
Our thoughts on Aurum Codex
For the savviest players, Aurum Codex video slot may boast predictable gameplay. However, most season players know that only a few online slots offer sticky wilds in the main game and the free spins. Thus, this might give this slot an edge to rival other alchemy-themed slots.
Another exciting element to this slot’s gameplay is the randomly added free spins we briefly discussed above. Even if the feature is random and only triggerable in the loading screen, it adds magic to the gameplay.
