One of the most prestigious awards, the EGR revealed its winners in July at the Tower of London. For those who are not familiar with the EGR, the awards highlight the best service provider in the gaming industry. But also identify individual achievements from suppliers in their respective field. This year we saw heavy hitters like NetEnt, Betsoft, Play’N GO, MR Green, Yggdrasil, Hero Gaming, and Scientific Games take home trophies.
When reading the providers and operators who were shortlisted for awards, there were no big surprises. In fact, throughout the year the companies above excelled and even won other awards too. Per example, the innovation award went to Betsoft Gaming. And most can already guess the title that brought home the win, but can you? Yes, it was Max Quest: Wrath of Ra. The Judges even commented on Betsoft achievement by saying.
“The business has released titles in 2018 which have been very good. And from a differentiation perspective and make for a good deliverable pipeline. They scored very highly for the role-play components.” Now Betsoft’s long-term rival, Yggdrasil also picked up an award for the casino supplier of the year. The Judges were mostly impressed by their “Strong new and bespoke games” and rich productions.
In recent months one of the oldest slot suppliers in the online gaming industry, NetEnt repeatedly said they were not happy with their past merits. But surely, receiving the trophy for slot supplier of the year proved that they’ve stepped up their game. The platform of the year awards, on the other hand, went to Scientific Games. The judges even said that they offer a “Flexible one-stop-shop with great coverage”.
The last significant award went to Play’N GO. Indeed, the famous game developer proved that they’re still the master of UX and UI at least when it comes to their mobile product. Join us in congratulating the winners and nominees for making the iGaming industry better year after year.
