IGT can now be proud that it has three of the most influential women in iGaming. IGA’s Women in Gaming Diversity has released its list of contenders for the award. Indeed, they have recognized three of IGT’s top women as some of the most influential ones in the industry. So, who are these well-deserving women? Well, there’s Jennifer Bowman, the Senior Director of Marketing at the company. Also, there’s Hiu-Yu Vanessa Chan, the Vice President of Greater China and Asia Pacific. Last, but definitely not least, there’s the CTO of IGT, Rachel Barber.
In a recent press release, Barber stated that she is now very “excited about the future”. She says that she is excited by “more opportunities for more young women to go into computer science”. The iGaming and lotteries business is a tricky one, especially recently, she admits. So having the right team in place is important. Barber has had an impact herself, rising quickly through the ranks. But she has also steered a very successful team. Indeed, she praised her workforce of “talented experts”, especially in technology. Barber spoke of their many achievements and how they make it look so easy. Women are leading the way in IGT. Yet, it’s fair to say that the numbers of women are rising throughout the whole online gambling industry.
To sum up, the awards will take place at the Savoy Hotel, London in May 2020. The biggest names in the industry will get together to honor the top women in iGaming.
All and all, they’ll celebrate companies that promote diversity in iGaming. Also, they will honor companies with strong women leading the way. As well as IGT, there are, overall, about 20 companies recognized. These include Pragmatic Play, Betsson, Scientific Games, NetEnt, Evolution Gaming and more. For some, being a woman in iGaming hasn’t been an easy road. This has been a male industry for quite a while. Now, things are looking to change, and women have a bigger role than ever before.
