February is undeniably one of the biggest and busiest months for the online gambling community. In February, London opens its arms to 2 huge igaming conference. But besides this, it’s the month where game developers and casino operators can receive a bit of love in the form of trophies at the Global Gaming Awards.
The much-praised ceremony is unique because it’s an afternoon tea party. And one where the best of the best get more than a scone with their cuppa. In fact, those who excel have the chance to add more accolades to their shelve.
So let’s have a quick look at who received top honours in London this year.
As the old saying goes, cream always rises to the top. Judging by the quality of the line up in the 16th different categories this year. Only the best of the best stood a chance to attract the attention of the esteemed judges. The panel of judges included big names like the CEO of Play’n GO, Yggdrasil, 888, NetEnt, Microgaming and VideoSlots to name but a few.
Undeniably, the most decorated company this year was Red Tiger Gaming. Gavin Hamilton jumped on the podium twice to collect trophies. The first time it was for Casino Product of the Year. A distinction that the CEO kindly accepted thanks to the Daily/Hourly Must Drop Jackpot his team pioneered. The second time it was to collect the Chief Executive of the year accolade. A trophy that his colleague Therese Hillman (NetEnt CEO) could have picked-up if she were not a judge, some say.
All and all, the competition was pretty tough in most categories this year. But, once again, LeoVegas received top honour and took the Online Casino of the year Trophy back to Malta. And, according to the judges, The Best Retail Supplier this year is Scientific Games.
Now, of course, they were many other worthy winners and terrific shortlisted candidates as well.
